What clothes do we wear during prayers in the kenasa?
Answer:
Before the People of Israel came in front of God to hear how God speaks with Moses, God said to Moses:
Go unto the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments, and be ready for the third day; for on the third day the Eternal will come down in the sight of all the people upon Mount Sinai. (2M 19:10-11)
And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount. (2M 19:17)
As same as the ancient Israelites, we also come in front of God in clean clothes.
We identify the kenasa - the house of prayer as the place where God is present, for this reason we only visit the kenasa in clean clothes.
